Kisha and Don have had a super unlucky time with their wedding plans. In March, they couldn’t wait for their friends and family from the US to fly in for their beachy wedding weekend. They had already been through challenges — the original venue they chose in NSW on the South Coast was very sadly badly damaged in the bushfires, so they had to find a new location north of Sydney at Seal Rocks. They replanned everything in three months, booking fun activities for their guests including surf lessons and bowls at the local RSL.
With less than a month to go before their wedding, the government closed the borders due to COVID-19, so they decided to postpone to 2021. However, after a few more weeks, they started to question their decision to wait, and replanned again as they really wanted to get married.
When discussing the plans (multiple plans) with Kisha she knew exactly what she wanted as these two had been renting a house down in the beautiful little south coast town of South Durras. Both Kisha and Don have a love for the ocean and had been exploring a whole heap of different beaches, roads and cliff tops in the area. Lucky we didn't have to go very far to find some beautiful locations for some photos!
Along with the help of some epic vendors involved these guys pulled off a beautiful elopement. They had the most romantic and special day that was all about them and their love, but they still had their family and friends participate from the US from getting ready altogether via zoom and then all their family and friends watched their ceremony live from the US. Kisha said they were so glad they didn’t let the uncertainty in the world stop them from getting married, and they can’t wait to celebrate in person with all their loved ones when the time is right. 😍😍
The ladies at Teneille's Beauty were like "hire a bridesmaids" for Kisha. When I walked in Kisha was getting ready with all her girls who were also overseas watching via Zoom with wines in hand and one of the girls were always holding the laptop for Kisha, helping her get dressed and of course getting that hair / make up all sorted! On the other hand, myself and Ben Rainford (Mr Videographer himself) were also like "hire a groomsmen" we were the witnesses for the day.
We got to travel around so many amazing locations around the Durras area on this South Coast Elopement it was such a beautiful afternoon! It was such an honour to be able to tell the story of the day to the family and friends in Australia and overseas who couldn't attend!
Here are some of my favourite shots from the day. (there is a lot so strap yourself in)
