Meet Matt Ashton

500+ weddings. Still the same feeling on every one.

Most people I photograph tell me they hate having their photo taken. By the end of the day, the same people are usually disappointed it's over.

What I'm really looking for is human connection, those in-between moments that give the full picture of who you are together. Not the shot you planned. The one that happened while you weren't looking.

I'm based on the South Coast with my wife Jess and our two kids, life is busy but full. I used to be a builder. I've been photographing weddings full time for six years, and I've done over 500 of them. Having a family changed how I look at this work. It's made me more patient, more present, and a lot more protective of the moments that don't come back.

Your wedding day is one of them. I don't take that lightly.

Kind Words

"It genuinely felt like having a friend there on the day. I was after an effortless documentary style with a high-end editorial feel and Matt delivered beautifully. Every moment feels natural, stylish, and timeless. Incredible talent, seamless experience, and such a great presence to have on the day."
