The Jackson Ranch Wedding Photographer
Documentary and film wedding photography at The Jackson Ranch, Bawley Point. Where authenticity and sophistication meet to capture moments that matter.
The Jackson Ranch is built for the whole weekend, not just the day, and that changes how it photographs. The quiet lakeside where you say your vows. The native bush holding the afternoon light. The lodge as the reception settles in, and the fire pits taking over once the sun is gone. If you are getting married here, you want a photographer who already reads how the day moves across the property. That is where I come in.

Weddings at The Jackson Ranch
The Jackson Ranch is a private, all-in-one wedding escape set in tranquil native bushland at Bawley Point, just minutes from the ocean. What sets it apart is that the whole thing happens in one place across a full, relaxed weekend. Timber guest cabins on site mean you and your people stay close, so the day starts slow and never feels rushed.
Mornings begin in the cabins as everyone gets ready. From there the day moves to the lakeside, a calm and peaceful ceremony backdrop with the bush and open sky behind you. The property carries versatile indoor and outdoor spaces, so there is room to move whichever way the weather turns on the day.
Then into the lodge, stylish and fully equipped, set up for the reception. As the light drops, the fire pits and open skies take over and those spaces come alive. Knowing where the good light sits, and when each part of the property comes into its own, is the difference between chasing the day and moving with it.
Local to the South Coast
I live on the South Coast, near Berry, about an hour north of Bawley Point. I know this stretch of coast well, the roads in, and the way the light works through the seasons. When the ceremony runs late and the sun is dropping over the bush, I already have a sense of where we will be standing.
Because Bawley Point sits inside my local zone, there is no travel fee for your wedding at The Jackson Ranch. Travel within two hours of Berry is included. You get someone who knows the South Coast and photographs it regularly, and who understands how a full-weekend venue like this one flows.

The process
How I work
How I work
Most couples tell me the same thing before their wedding: they want great photos, but they don't want their day to feel like a photoshoot. That's the only brief I work to. A wedding day should feel lived in, not staged. I stay close enough to catch everything and unobtrusive enough that you forget I'm there.
It starts with a free 15 to 20 minute call, so we can talk through your day and make sure we are a fit. To lock in your date, a $1,000 deposit holds it. About three months out I send a questionnaire to map the timeline. You will see a set of previews within 48 to 72 hours of the wedding, and your full gallery lands 6 to 8 weeks later.
I take a limited number of weddings each year, and popular The Jackson Ranch dates tend to book 12 to 18 months ahead. If you have a date in mind, it is worth reaching out early.
Kind words
“We had the absolute pleasure of having Matt capture our special day. His calm yet energetic presence made everything seamless. We were blown away by the photos. He captured not just moments in time but true emotions as well. His energy, skill, and dedication are unmatched.”
DAVID & LAURA
“We honestly couldn't have asked for a better wedding photographer than Matt. He was professional, calming, organised, and so easy to work with on the day. He made us feel completely comfortable in front of the camera and captured every special moment so naturally.”

By the end of the day, your photos should feel less like documentation and more like memory
By the end of the weekend, I want your photos to feel less like documentation and more like memory. If you are getting married at The Jackson Ranch, tell me your date and a little about the day you're picturing, and we'll take it from there.
Your day, honestly captured as the day unfolds.
