I have photographed enough weekends at The Lodge to know how it unfolds. Guests wake up in the rooms wrapped around the pool, the day builds slowly, and by afternoon everyone drifts down to the forest chapel. The light through the trees there sits low and soft. Then it is back up to the main lodge for long tables and a dance floor that runs late. Knowing the property means I am already in the right spot before each moment lands, not chasing it.

The venue
Weddings at The Lodge
The Lodge started life as a 1970s motel and is now one of the most fun and unique wedding spaces on the South Coast. It is a private venue built for a full weekend, not a single afternoon. Guests stay on site in the rooms that wrap around a central pool and palm trees, so the celebration spreads out over a couple of days rather than being squeezed into a tight run sheet.
Ceremonies happen in a moody, intimate forest chapel, tucked into the trees and made for a slower, quieter moment before everything opens up. From there the day moves to the main lodge, a space built for big long-table dinners and a proper dance floor. It suits couples who want their whole crew in one place, eating and drinking and staying late together.
The pace is relaxed and the mood is vibrant, and that is exactly why it photographs so well. Mornings by the pool, the walk down to the chapel, the long lunch that turns into dinner that turns into dancing. I follow the day as it actually happens and let the venue do what it does best.
Local to me
I am based near Berry, about 25 minutes up the road from The Lodge, so Jamberoo is firmly inside my patch. Travel within two hours of Berry is included, which means no travel fee for a wedding here. It also means I am not turning up cold. I know the drive, I know the venue, and I know how the light falls through that forest chapel at different times of the afternoon.
Shooting a venue close to home has a quiet advantage. I can arrive early, settle in, and read the day without the logistics of a long haul hanging over it. For you that shows up as calm, unhurried coverage from someone who has spent real time in this part of the South Coast.

The process
How I work
How I work Most couples tell me the same thing before their wedding: they want great photos, but they don't want their day to feel like a photoshoot. That's the only brief I work to. A wedding day should feel lived in, not staged. I stay close enough to catch everything and unobtrusive enough that you forget I'm there. It starts with a free 15 to 20 minute call, so we can talk through your day and make sure we are a fit. To lock in your date, a $1,000 deposit holds it. About three months out I send a questionnaire to map the timeline. You will see a set of previews within 48 to 72 hours of the wedding, and your full gallery lands 6 to 8 weeks later. I take a limited number of weddings each year, and popular dates at The Lodge tend to book 12 to 18 months ahead. If you have a date in mind, it is worth reaching out early.
